Purpose Driven Impact was founded in 2021 by Michelle Carney.   Michelle has had a varied career and has worked in the UK, USA, Australia and Africa. She has worked at CEO/Director level since 2002, leading grassroots sports partnerships and organisations. Michelle has worked in the commercial sector, professional sport, international development and international sport for development.  She was awarded an Honorary Doctorate for her Outstanding Contribution to Sport in 2022.

Most recently, she spent three years as CEO of Special Olympics Great Britain and led a major transformational change programme culminating in a new strategic plan called “Inclusion in Action” which sets the roadmap for the future of the organisation.  Michelle has worked on a number of major national and global sporting events and strongly believes in the power of sport to transform lives.

Michelle is passionate about inclusion, diversity and belonging and creating inclusive environments  and organisational cultures which inspire people to be the best they can be. She is a people focussed transformational leader and has an MSc in Leadership & Organisational Change. She is also passionate about empowering others and coaches and mentors many young aspiring leaders across the globe.  

Michelle is proud to have a neurodiverse brain and believes that simplifying complex challenges and taking action is the first step to creating inclusive environments where people can thrive. 

She believes in leading with integrity, kindness, compassion, courage and bravery. She is a disrupter with empathy who sees things in a different way and believes that raising others up and working collaboratively is the key to creative and innovative solutions.  She is passionate about creating change which empowers others, and believes there is always humour to be found in all situations. Life is short, so it should be fun and transformative.
